Using the Google Adwords Search Query Report

Google Adwords Search Query Report

Google Adwords Search Query Report

The Search Query Report can be accessed directly from the Keywords tab in the new Google Adwords interface. This report shows you the user-entered search terms that triggered your PPC ads.

To see the report, select the keywords of your choice and click See search terms, then Selected. A report will be generated with a list of search terms that triggered your ads for those selected keywords. You will also have visibility to important metrics like CTR and conversion rate.

Now the fun begins! You can easily make changes to your keyword portfolio directly from the report. For example, if you a see a search term that looks like a good fit, you can easily add it to your campaign by selecting the term and by clicking ‘Add as keyword’.  One of ways I utilize the report most often is for negative keyword research. If you see a search term that is not a fit for your campaign, you can add it as a negative keyword.
