Hidden Text - Google’s Penalty E-mail Example

Its nice to see Google taking some pro-active action before simply enforcing penalties. Obviously this is probably because Google thought it was done by a third party hacking (Google wrote in the email, “this appears to be because your site has been modified by a third party”).  Google then informed the webmaster that in order to protect the safety of the Google searcher, they have removed the infected website temporarily.

What are your thoughts? Have you ever received a similar e-mail? How long was the website ‘temporarily’ removed?
