Yahoo Launches New Search Features

I rarely write about Yahoo, however, it appears Yahoo is preparing for another year of struggle as it continues to go to battle with Google (who continues to lead in search market share) and a still ambiguous future partnership with Microsoft’s Bing.

To prove its ongoing dedication to search marketing, Yahoo announced several enhancements to its search advertising programs starting with updating its Sponsored Search product.

First up is the Network Distribution feature. Advertisers will now be able to run paid ads on Yahoo search pages, Yahoo’s partner sites or both. An awesome secondary feature when targeting the Yahoo network is the ability to set different bids for Yahoo vs. its partner network.

Perhaps one of Yahoo’s most lacking feature is also getting some improvement -  easier and more efficient conversion of Google Adwords campaigns. Excel files can now be easily imported using the “Import Campaigns” button.

Yahoo is also dedicated to providing more relevant search results, including real-time results via tweets and news links. This is to enable advertisers find more targeted opportunities to serve their ads
