SEO Basics - H1 Tags
Today is part 3 of our SEO basics and we’ll be focusing on the Hx tags today (view our Title Tag basics and Meta Description basics).
<H1> tag is the first and most important heading in the content of a page. It tells what the content is going to be about, so search engines value it a lot.
An effective <H1> tag should be written with following in mind:
- Include the target keywords for that page within <H1> tag in a meaningful way
- Make sure that <H1> tag differs from the Title of the page. <H1> tag should be similar to the title, but should slightly differ
- There should be only one <H1> tag. Use <H3>, <H3>, <H4> to denote sub-sections of content within the document or page
