Outstanding Questions from Google’s +1 Button

Google +1 Button

Google +1 Button

I’ll make this post short and sweet – a lot of hoopla has been generated out the launch of Google’s +1 button. Internally at PPC for Hire we still have some unanswered questions related to the launch – most of which will simply take time to answer:

  • Will advertisers be able to track or get data on how many times their ad has been shared?
  • Also will the shares improve a results’ ranking?
  • How much influence will this have on rankings?
  • Are the results only applied when signed into Google or do different algorithms present results based on this?
  • Do we anticipate the influx of fake Google profiles to influence rankings?
  • Will the IP’s of users clicking +1 results be a factor for weighing click abuse (similar to how Digg was initially gamed)?
  • Does this have any impact on the importance of links as what we all have seen as one of the major ranking factors?

What questions have you been asking – do you have answers to any of the above? Feel free to leave your thoughts in the comments!
