You know your page and your users best, so we recommend putting the button wherever you think it will be the most effective. That said, above the fold, near the title of the page, and close to sharing links are often good locations.”+1s will be one of many signals in organic search

+1 is one of many social signals used for search ranking.

Google also uses data from other social platforms, such as Twitter & Flickr, and hundreds of other signals to inform search ranking. +1s may affect search ranking and should be a positive thing for high quality sites. With that in mind, beginning to think about how to incorporate the +1 button into your website should a high priority!
